Single and looking to find your soul mate? Well, you’re in luck because there are thousands of resources and matchmaking sites available at your fingertips. But, if you’re looking to find the perfect animal companion, the search may be a touch more difficult.

Until now, animal adoption has been a primitive and often intimidating process filled with shelter visits, phone calls and pet interviews. And, even if the ideal type of animal is located, there is no guarantee that he or she will be a good personality match for the potential new home. These system flaws can be discouraging and make people less likely to adopt.

However, thanks to new pet matchmaking site AllPaws, it is now easier than ever to find the perfect animal companion. Darrell Lerner, founder of AllPaws, was inspired to start the site after seeing the success of his previous project, an online dating site called The technology behind AllPaws is essentially the same as AYI’s, but has been tailored to replace humans with homeless animals.

The AllPaws site, which is scheduled to launch this October, already has over 100,000 animals logged in its databases. And this number will only continue to grow. is partnering with AllPaws to equip shelters with the technology needed to get even more pets online.
